Search form connected to the other form

hi there ive been trying to make 2 forms first form contains search form then second form contains the record...

my problem is i cant get it when i type the value in my search form i go directly to my record form but the value i type is not appearing,, attached here is the sample..

Here we go. You need to create a combo box. Then have a sub form to dislay the data.

Have a good look at the Query, as well as the Event Procedures.

thanks sir... but is it possible to put the combo box in the other form?
like Form8 only the combo box is there, and in form9 the whole record?
my boss ask me that if its possible...

Seems a bit illogical. Having to in and out of a form to change the person. But anyway here you are.

my search button is in my mainform above the records,i dont get it too why my boss want to separate it... yes thanx a lot that's what i need, ill study it so that i can apply it in my database...
