I want to create a query with a parameter that prompts the user to enter a word or words. This will the return all the records from the table that contain that word or words. I have entered the following:
Like [ Enter word to search for] & "*"

Is this possible or not?

Yes, but you probably want:
LIKE "*" & [ Enter word to search for] & "*"

if using Access

LIKE "%" & [ Enter word to search for] & "%"

if using SQLserver passthrough
