Hi, I have got some notes from Access Security FAQ with steps on how to protect a database. I have created a new Workgroup file, log in as Admin and added a password for this user. I then created a new user called DBA and added it to the Admins group. The next step says to quit out of Access and then come back in as the new account 'DBA'. I can't figure out how to do this bit, I keep coming in as Admin. My notes say that by setting the password on Admin it prompts Access for a logon Name and Password when I come back into the database. I only get prompted for the password! I also can't change the database ownership from Admin to DBA, why would this be?
 
Are you using the shortcut that was created? Did you name the new workgroup file something other than system.mdw? It sounds as if you are skimming over the faq's. Don't try it that way. Read them from beginning to end (I know it's 40 pages!) but you have to understand everything that is happening during the securing process.
