selecting products to add to an order and calculate

Hello there, lets just say that i have a listbox with, wood, glass, bricks in it. and i click a button to add this to my cart as such.and i type in the number of units required in a textbox, or whatever you think is best, and when i do this it adds up the cost. I would really appreciate some help with this, or any ideas if i am trying something impossible. Thanks alot, Richard
