Setting Indexes over a Network (1 Viewer)

I'm controlling a database which has copies on remote servers. Each night a make table query is run to xfer the updated table out to te remote servers. I then set indexes on this table via VBA. The table contains 230,000 records and as such it takes a while to set the indexes. The time is not a problem but do you know if during this time my Application is constantly using the network to set the indexes or does my Application send the signal to Access on the remote server and the delay is just the remote server setting the indexes and replying?
