I have set my database to open to a specific form every time it is launched but cannot figure out how to set the default view. I see it in properties but when I click on it nothing happens. I suppose this will take some code or an expression but where would I put it and how would I link the module for auto execute when the form is loaded?

We do not read minds so be specific. What do you want exactly and what have you tried exactly.

I think my original post was pretty specific but maybe a number list will help you

1. My database opens a form called tips in datasheet view and I want it to open in form view

2. I have tried to save the form in Formview then close the database but when launching it is again in datasheet view.

3. I have tried to open up the default view box in the properties or toggle it by clicking on it but this has no effect. It always opens in datasheet view.

The form is pretty basic. 1 combo box, a couple fields and 3 command buttons to navigate and print

No your post was not specific in that it failed to mention the items i listed. I dont write crap like that for fun.

What is form view?

The available views are single form, continuous form, datasheet or split form. One is set in the properties in Default View. Underneath there is a bunch of Allow fields, for various views. Which have you selected?

I figured it out. The properties pane was not wide enough to display the drop downs for the option to set the default value.
