Hi. Have searched high and low for info on this but am now tearing my hair out. I have created a database for teachers to use in school. It works fine as a dtabase on the school network but I would like people to be able to take it home to use as well. Previously I had used replication but the web functions of 2010 lured me to changing. I set up the database with Sharepoint lists forming the backend. Last week I uploaded everything to a Microsoft trial server and everything worked great. Now I am using a different server (a friend's) and I seem to be hitting issues.
I migrated the standard DB to sharepoint with no problems and all the lists seem to have appeared. The App then works great until I close it and reopen it. After this I get a message about the database or an object being read only. I did not get this issue with the trial MS server I used previously which I had working smoothly for a week, and I don't think I have recoded anything major recently. Sounded like permissions but the DB file is not read only and all the lists seem fine too.
Stranger still I also cannot start a new database and connect to the lists as access denies the existence of the server. I have also found that I can intermittently open one or two tables without error but cannot add any data to them. This is driving me nuts - it seems to have no logic!!!
If you have any ideas at all it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Alex
