SHIFT+OPEN trick not working in Access 2003?

The SHIFT+OPEN trick doesn't seem to work on my Access 2000 files when I try to open it with Access 2003. I imagine it's the dialog box concerning possible dangerous code that's messing it up. Any ideas how to resolve this? Converting it doesn't seem to be an option; Access crashes about 1/2 way through the compression.

Make sure you hold down the shift key until the db is completely open. If you release the shift key too soon it won't work.

FYI:

If it is slow to open for you, try opening just Access then do the File - Open, highlight the mdb in question, then hold the shift and press enter. I found that some were so slow opening that I wasn’t getting into design view, but if you open Access first, it seems alot quicker.
