Dodgers can't loose this game, they have to win 2 games in a row or it's all over for them.
Unfortunately they lost 2 games at home. It's hard to win both remaining games away.

I thinks it's time to relieve this pitcher

Wow, that was a nail biting game. Thank Goodness the Dodgers pulled through! Series now tied 3-3. Next game decides who are the Champs. GO DODGERS !!!

What a struggle, Toronto has based loaded with 1 out. Bater hits, 3rd base runs home, but Dodgers catcher tags him out to save the game. Next batter almost hita a home run, Dodgers centerfield collides with leftfield Dodger at the wall, and makes unbelievable catch fir the 3rd out, sending the game into overtime! Dodgers now have bases loaded and a chance for redemption, and no luck 🙁

Is this the 'world' series where the only countries allowed are the USA and Canada?

I'm only 8 years into English, and my understanding may be wrong.
For me:
The word “world” doesn’t always literally mean “the entire planet” or “all countries.”
In many contexts, it’s used figuratively and means a specific area, group, or way of life.
Fashion world, Tech world, or likewise words are an imaginary realm.
Some Examples:
My kids are my world.
He lives in his world.
In the world of imaginations, everything is possible.
She entered the art world at a young age.

For us who live at the edge of the world and learnt baseball from Americans, World series means : “The championship of the best baseball in the world.” Since MLB players are the best athletes from different countries, it's actually World series. Which other country will ever be able to compete in the series??

Edit :
I did a search on why it's called "World Series". The correct answer seems to be:
The series was started in 1903 and at the time MLB was the only truly professional baseball in the world then. That was why the final at the time was called "World Series"

Yanks MLB does not have teams from other countries because it operates on a closed franchise system, not an open league structure. The primary reasons include economic and logistical challenges, such as the high cost of supporting a team, the difficulty of long-distance international travel disrupting the schedule, and the financial viability of operating a team in less wealthy nations. MLB does hold international regular season games, and Canada is the only country with a team, which is feasible due to geographical proximity and cultural similarities.

Those are good explanations about The Word Series, save them because it will be asked again by the same person next year. It's kind of a tradition around here.

And get your answers ready for why The Super Bowl isn't super.

The 2025 World Champion Dodgers played their first game in Tokyo. MLB has played several regular season games in foreign cities, including where West Ham United plays at London Stadium. 55K went to see those games.

Very good memory AB. Last years explanation was that is was originally sponsored by a newspaper called 'The World', hence The World Series. I remember me and Rich debated this subject here around 20 years ago. Doc will remember Rich.
