Do you have a very negative deep rooted childhood experience that's causing you cell phone nightmares or something? Did you phone give you a brain tumor recently? What do you have against a mobile section?

There's an excellent take on the recent 3G ringtone phenomena at the www.headstaggers.com website. I won't post the direct link since it's not exactly office friendly but, if really interested in seeing it, you'll find it without a problem.

I think the best thing anyone can do is use the "Try before you buy" schemes that most carriers have in place. I'm not sure of the process, but your basically sign up with a plan and get your phone and you usually get a 2-4 week trial period where you can use the phone and if you don't like it you can opt out without paying any cancellation penalties. Since each carrier has their own unique signal footprint, you really have to test them all out in the areas that you will be most likely using your phone. I realize that realistically this isn't something most people would commit to doing, but if you are really concerned with the coverage that you will receive then it may be worth doing. Now if its that actual phone itself, customer service, billing etc that is the problem then search the internet for who ranks highest for these areas.
