I am a novice Access user. It appears that Access defaults to double spacing on all reports. That is it prints a detail record, then prints a blank line, then prints the next detail record. In order to save print space I would like to print all detail records on consecutive lines with no line feeds between records. How do I accomplish this seemingly simple task? I am using Access 95. Thanks

Check the width of your report. Sometimes if the width is too wide you will get extra returns, but I am not a report expert so if that is not the problem then maybe someone else will have the correct answer for you.

Open the report in design view. Click in the ruler area to the left of the line of data in the detail section to select all fields in the row. Open the properties dialog and change the top property to 0". This will move all the fields up to the top of the detail section. Then drag the bottom bar up until it is just below the bottom of the controls.

If this doesn't reduce the space enough you can select all the controls again and decrease their height a little at a time dragging the detail separator up each time. Just be careful not to reduce the height so much that you loose the bottom part of the letters.
