sort records by month

I am creating a query to sort by month for birthday, but when I do it will put 10, 11, 12 before 3,4 etc... won't sort in order 1-12. Help. I was using 01/01/01 format but when the data is in the table it shows as 1/1/01. how do I keep the 0's in front? HELP

If you just set sort in the design grid to ascending it should give them in the right order. I don't know if you've overlooked this, although it may not be what you are after.

How are you deriving the Month?
