sorting a list to the order i prefer ?

i have a table of code that are similar to this:

A101
A101A
A101B
A101C
A102
A102A
A102B
A102C

and so on...

the problem i have is that in my drop down box the codes with the letters after them are always at the topof the list...

like so:

A101A
A101B
A101C
A101 ----->(this has moved)
A102A
A102B
A102C
A102 ----->(this has moved)

i need the list to be in the order of codes not ending with a letter to be at the top followed by the codes with letters,

this probably make little sense, but can it be done.

You need to add another field with a code on that you can sort on. If you add a trailing space to your code, it should sort in the order you want, but you wouldn't want to store the trailing space in your data.
