After 4 years of working in the office, we've now gone "Virtual Call Center" and are working from home.
My "Decline" database worked decent on the network when without being split, but now since we've gone VPN, it's showing signs of bogging down, even after compacting and repairing, and I've finally considered splitting it; running the back end on the server and the front end on the agents desktops.

One issue - how does one split the DB via VPN?

And if I want to update the forms, how would I accomplish that?
(I used to add / change fields in one of the forms constantly)

FYI - this forum is fantastic !.. (I've learned alot just here!:D )

Each agent should have an account on the server (assuming Terminal Server). Front end in eg:

Databases/Agent1/FrontEnd.mde
Databases/Agent2/FrontEnd.mde

BackEnd

Databases\Data.mdb

All that is happening with VPN are the screen dumps are being transmitted. The Remote Desktop should have Local Printers ticked so that the server can identify your printer. If I remember rightly I think you have to have install all the printer drivers onto the Server. As each agent logs in their printer should be the default printer.
