stored procedure progress indicator

I am calling an SQL Server stored procedure from Access - works fine. The stored procedure will take a long time to run (could be 30 minutes) doing a large number of iterations. How could I get back some indication of progress to Access and display it on a form?

Do a search here for progress bars, there are many examples.
