OK, first of all it is not my idea, but a client wants to stream their My Pictures folder as a slide show onto a plasma tv screen that is to be located in a different room from the home office based PC.
Two suggestions I have been given are to get a plasma screen with a USB socket and then copy MyPictures to a 2Gb USB pen and run direct to plasma. Not sure how this would work but has a beautiful technical simplicity and very low budget on basis that a plasma screen is going to be purchased anyway.
The other suggestion was to locate a mini-Mac in her office and then stream the pictures over wireless to the plasma screen. I assume I would need some form of receiver by the plasma screen.
I am already planning to implement a wireless router for security and to allow easy notebook connectivity but the system I am looking at for the main PC is Windows based not Mac and I do not know how happy she would be with so much additional outlay.
Do any of you have any ideas how this might most easily be achieved???
I really would appreciate some thoughts on this one since it is something I would not dream of doing for myself in a million years - TV leaves me cold and whilst my photos are good, they are not that good. I could not possibly comment on my client's photographic skills - memories of Yes Minister.
Thanks
Malcy
