Stupid Question....

I have created a report, but I manipulated a copy of another report that was already being used, to create this new report. I have already created a query for this new report, but this new report is still associated to the old query. In other words, when I click on the field list, it gives me a list of all the fields for that original query. How can I go about changing this to the correct (my new) query? I have looked, but I can't seem to figure it out. It is probably very simple, but I am just simply missing it.

Thanks,

Dux

I may not understand your question correctly. Try changing the names of the text boxes to the new fields. I think that's where you are going with this.

Let me know if that helps,

You need to change the Record Source for the report. In design view, if you see the two rulers (one across the top, the other across the left side), look at where they intersect. There will be a small square. Click on that square. That will bring up the report property sheet. Click on the data tab. Select your query from the Record Source box.

Ohhh, I didn't see the part where you said it was still associated to the old query. Yes, follow dcx693's advice then. Also, from now on, I recommend making the subject relavent to the question instead of using subjects like "Stupid Question" or "Need your help!" because most of us don't look at the questions if the subject isn't relavent to the question. Just a little FYI.

The field names would be exactly the same as the field names of the previous report.....the only thing I need to change is the linkage to the query. The query is still set to what it was set to for the other report. Is it possible to change the what query the report is linked to?

Thanks,

Dux

oops, sorry....i didn't see the last two messages.....i'll give them a try. ignore my last message for now.

Thanks,

Yes, that did the trick....thank you both very much. I will also remember to use better subject titles in the future. Thanks for the tip.
