Sub form problems

I have a form that has 3 subforms. Each subform is invisible until you select BLDG, CNPY, or CRWH from the textPLMNTYPE field. The field that links the form and subforms is the PLMNO field.
I am having a problem with the PLMNO changing in the main and subform depending on what is chosen in the textPLMNTYPE field.

For example:
If the PLMNO IS 252D00100 and I pull that up on the main form, no subforms appear until I chose a PLMNTYPE. If I choose the type CNPY and there are no CNPY types for that job, the CNPY subform appears (like it should), but the PLMNO automatically changes to a job that does have the type CNPY. So now my whole form and subform changes to a totally different PLMNO (job).

I've checked the linked fields of my subform. And they're right.

Might not help but.....

Hi

This might not help at all, and i do apoligize as i see that you are a senior member with much more experience than i am sure i have, so i hope this does not frustrate you.

But to my knowledge Access can only handle two sub forms within a form. I understand you have three on a form, perhaps Access is just crapping out with the additional sub form.

Perhaps you could look into this area alittle further to see if access can in fact handle more than two subforms.

Once again, i hope i am not insulting you with this tip.

I am totally not insulted at all! In fact, I didn't know that and it makes perfect sense since I tried it another way with only one subform and am not having that problem anymore.

I am only a senior member because of the length of time that I have been a member. I am only a part time Access programmer and I use the word "programmer" loosely. I wish that I could keep my Junior status so as not to fool anyone into thinking I'm any more knowledgeable about all of this than I really am. I do know enough to be called a nerd at work, but that's okay. If it were not for this website I would have given up on Access a couple of years ago. I can't say how valuable it has been.

Thank you very much!

Maybe you can help Me?

Michele... Thanks for you words of encouragement...... It is sometimes intimidating giving advise to someone listed as a senior member, cause you certainly don't want to insult someones knowledge of a program thay have perhaps had years of experience with..

Maybe you would be able to help me out this time.

I have posted a question in the "General" section and the same question reworded in the "Forms" section.

It is listed under my user name VAV...

I could realy use some advise or at least direction. I have been working on the problem and i think i am getting closer to the solution but alittle help might get me over the hump faster.

If you have a sec check it out..

VAV
