(Access 2007) I have created a subform that successfully retrieves 2 records from a related table. In Design View, the subform is formatted and looks like the main form. In Form View, however, the subform is displayed as a table with the 2 records in it.

I would like the subform to look like the main form. Currently, it looks like a table within the main form.

Is there a way for the subform to appear as a form and not a table?

Go into the subform in design view and change the DEFAULT VIEW from Datasheet to Single Form.

Put your form/subform set into design view click on the subform properties and click on the Subform and select the format tab in the properties box and select Continuous Forms for Default View.

Thanks, that worked. Another question though...

In Design View, I listed all the fields to be displayed. Some times there will be one record to display or there could be as many as 3. How I can I make the form repeat itself so that all the records are displayed, in case there is more than one?

Thanks John. "Continuous" is the view I was looking for.

In the subform, I've added all the fields I want to be displayed. They appear in a vertical row, but I am not able to move them around separately in Design View. Is there a setting that locks them together?

If you are in Access 2007, yes there is. Here's how you "disconnect" them.

Just what I was looking for. Thanks for the link. It seems like I've spent too much time away from Access.

While I still have you, hopefully...

So the subform is set to continuous and there are two records displayed, but the background color of the subform is only visible behind the first record. When the second record is displayed, all text formatting is the same, but the background is white. How can I ensure that the background color is also displayed continuously?

I figured it out. I shouldn't be so quick to give up and run to the forums.

Try changing the BackStyle of the controls to TRANSPARENT while in design view.
