Hello,
As part of my project I have to develop a working db and on submission to my tutor it was returned with the following notes-
' On the order form its possible to change the customer ID in the subform, so the subform can have a different name from the main form'
I have tried various things to get round this but still seem to be having a problem with this part so has any-one got any ideas/help that they think may be of use to me with this.

Thanks
David

Sorry, but your tutor's note doesn't make sense. What is he trying to say? And what do you want to achieve as an end result? In what respect is your database faulty?

I guess the customer ID is the link criteria for the main and the sub form. If you are showing the customer ID on the subform, then this could be changed, destroying the referencing. You should show the customer ID only in the main form. It will still exist in the record source for the subform, but if you don't show it on the subform, it can't be amended by the user.

Re this problem with the subform/main form I still cannot seem to get what you guys are meaning could you expand a little?

What Neileg means, and I think he is right, is that the ID number field is appearing on both the subform and the main form. When you created the form, you probably used the wizard and took all the fields from the main table and all the fields from the sub table. You shouldn't display the ID on the subform, because a user could change it and assign the record to another user. In general, this is a bad idea. If your subform contains payments due from a customer, you don't want to accidentally change it and start dunning someone who doesn't actiually owe you anything...
