First of all I’m a complete Access rookie and self taught.

The Question:
Is their a way to make a subform open with a command button? Or either have a form open and have information automatically drop in from a master form?

Background:
5 days of frustration.
Other than that,… I have 4 forms A,B,C,and D.
A is the main form
B is a subform of A
C and D are subforms of B.
Each form is lengthy and contains many fields.
I would like to display a couple fields from A on to B and information on A and B on to C and D

The problem:
When I make my forms in design view and insert the sub forms all is good but I have this huge ugly form. When I make a command button to “open form” it does not drop in the information from A onto B and A and B onto C and D.

Any help for this access rookie would be greatly appreciated.

By the way I’m using Access 2002

Make sure that the subform control's LinkChildFields and LinkMasterFields are set properly. They are the properties which keep the subform's record "in synch" with the current record on the main form. Also, note that these properties are set for the subform control, not the subform itself.
