Does anyone know how to design a subform that can be plopped on a main form to find records? I have a customer table, and I want to be able to find a record by typing in a keyword from the customer name on a subform that is next to the main form......important that the entry does not have to be exact.....but can search by first word or any word.

I used to know how to do this, but I forgot.....!

:)

Forgot to mention...

I forgot to mention - I've been able to do this in the past somehow, by creating an unbound combo box on my main form. Then, when I type in the value and press enter, it goes to the matching record in the main form. Sound familiar to anyone?

I have been able to create the combo box and it does display the list of available customer names, it also autocompletes based on the first few letters, but is not linked to the main table......(doesn't go to any record...)
