Subforms and searching in 2 fields

Please would someone be able to help?

I am working in access and I have a main form, which has a subform. When creating the subform I made the search between say 'field 1' of the main form and 'field 2' of the subform.

However I am now adding another field to the table which my subform was created from and I therefore need to also search in that field.

So for example what I need to do is:

I type in a figure in 'field 1' of the main form and it searches 'field 1' and 'field 2' of the subform for that figure and then brings up that records accordingly.

How did you set-up the search for both the main form and the subform together in the first place? Could you not just add the new field to this search?
