subforms of datasheet view

If I have a subform that is in datasheet view, is there a way to LOCK the order of fields so that the user cannot highlight a column and move its location?

This is considered a user friendly feature and hence can't be blocked, I don't think. Even making the form read-only or locking the subform control doesn't effect it.

The only workaround I can think of would be the old "make it a continuous form and tweak it to look like a datasheet form" routine.

Maybe someone else has a hack for this.
