Using Access 2003.
I first began building my DB with SubForms in mind, all was going well until I imported data into the MainForm. Once the MainForm had been propagated I went on to start using the SubForms only to find I could only add one new entry per SubForm. I found this was because the SubForm was using the ID from the MainForm as its ID and therefore could not creat an new ID for subsequent forms. How do I resolve this?

I have setup a MainForm for Vehicles, this contains all the details about the car. Make, Model, VH number, Rego number, etc.

I added SubForm's for things like Servicing, Tyre Repairs, Smash Repairs, Windscreen repairs, Custodian/Passengers etc.

I have some 130 cars all with their own MainForm, each car form also has the SubForms.

When I try and add a new record for say the Tyre Repairs I am unable to do so because I get a duplicate ID (the first SubForm gets its ID from it parent Form)

If its more helpful I can create a small DB to demonstrate the issue.

If you are able to post an abridged version of your DB, I take a look at it latter this evening.
