Hello,

I am building a subreport and attempting to create a border with vertical lines that connect the Main Report to the SubReport. The lines between the Main Report and the Heading of the Sub Report line up correctly. However, the detail lines within the SubReport do not fully connect (there's a small space after each record.)

Within Properties, the height of each line matches the height of the detail section. I've even increased the length of the lines uniformly, but the space still appears.

Any ideas??

In your detail section select all and move everything down and see what is causing it. Even if one of your lines or text boxes is bigger than the line the space will show:)

Also set your can shrink and grow property to yes and play around with it, that might be causing it too.

Sohaila,

Thanks for your response. I've tried pushing all of the fields around to see if I can spot a "troublemaker". But, no luck. No matter what I do, I end up with the space between the records.

My guess would be your subreport is causing this. Make sure to check for can shrink and grow properties in your subreport in design mode in your actual report. Reports are very tricky;)

Sohaila

I've run through every option I can think of, including the can grow/shrink options. The most interesting point is that now the space occurs after every three detail items.

I agree with you that reports are very tricky, particularly when dealing with sub reports. I spend way too much time trying to hurdle these formatting issues.

And thanks very much for your help on this. I appreciate your effort.
