Im currently building a system and part of this system requires a report/query that sums accommodated nights by clients in certain establishments (not those type of "establishments") by month and by quarter.
Previous systems that Ive done, which do similar calculations have been based on the start date ie if they are accommodated on say the 29th of October until the 5th of november, those nights spent would be in the October data even though it spilled into November. However this new reporting requirement specifies that the period to be reported sums the days in Oct and separately nights in November if it continues into the next month.
Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated!
(Im sure Ive done this before but Ive no recollection of how I did it)
