switch PK?

hi folks,

I have a table that uses a text field for the PK that i'd like to switch to an autonumber field. it has a 1-to-many relationship with one other table and a bunch of lookup tables attached to other fields in the same table. is there a way i can switch the PK from text to autonumber without messing everything up.

thanks for the response. could you please explain a little more how to set up the update query. i'm not quite sure how to populate the new FK using the new PK.
