Synchronized combo boxes

I have a combo box - cboSupplierName - which is synchronized to another combo box - cboProductCategory - on the same form - frmOrders. Thus suppliers only appear in the second box if they fall within the category selected in the first. The category is initially selected on the main form which shows all suppliers details.

What I would like to have is there to be a second category. Therefore if a supplier is shown as being in both say the Tools and the Fixings category, their name appears in the cboSupplierName combo when either Tools or Fixings is selected from the category combo. Is this possible?

Any help offered would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest building a query that looks at your two combo boxes and provides the criteria for your third.

If you don't want to build a query specifically for that task you can go into SQL view in the query window and copy it out into the control source of your third combo box, and then delete the query.

All you'll need to do then is requery the combo box on exiting the second combo box which will fill your third combo box with the appropriate choices.
