Hi,

I have a whole bunch of text boxes on a form. I would like to insert a tab control so I can insert some of these text boxes in different tabs (pages) so the form would look more presentable. My problem is that when I try to insert an existing text box into a new tab, that sam:( e txtbox shows on all the pages of the control tab. How would I fix this, so whatever I insert on one page of the control tab only stays on that page and not in all its pages??

Thank you

I think it is simply the order your doing it.... Start with a blank form... No fields. Put your tab box onto the form. Then you can open your field list and drag and drop your fields onto the page tab that you want them on. IF the field is already on the form, or if you drag and drop it onto the form first... and then drag it to the tab... it will show on both tabs (if you only have two) So drag the fields directly to the tab area... when you see it change colors, then it's safe to drop it.

Yes, you must select the actual tab you want the control on before either dragging/dropping or pasting.

Drag and Drop does *not* work with a Tab Control! You need to Cut the control, then select the tab you want it on, then Paste. Drag and Drop controls end up looking like they are on *every* tab Page because they are really still on the Main Form.

Hate to disagree :D But I just did it with 2 different db,s before I made the post... Draging from the fieldlist onto the tab worked every time for me. Maybe we're talking apples and oranges here.... not sure.

You're correct CEH. Dragging from the Field list to a selected tab will work. Once the control is placed on the form though (not the tab control), it must be Cut from the form and Pasted onto a selected tab.

OK, got ya now RG... If the fields are already on the form...cut and paste... Thats why I told him to start with a blank form NO fields.
Still good to know! I've never tried the cut and paste method.
