Table in backend

Hi all
Using Access 97. Have a table on the Backend containing data that is being updated most of the time. Want i want is to add some fields to this but because its on the back end it will not let me. Can you tell me in easy terms how i would get into the design in the back end in order to do this.

I assume you mean the backend database is in mdb format. If that's the case, open the backend database and change the design there.

Have tried that but when I goto save the new fields are not saved

Do you have permissions to edit the database? Also, if you do not open the database exclusively, you cannot edit the structure.
