Taking long time when switching View or Save

Hi There,

I've noticed that when switching to View from Design View or Saving a form, they take a long time. 10 seconds to save a form, 5 seconds to switch from Design View to View.

If the be is on a fileserver, it takes much much longer for these two operations.

It used to be much faster when the application was at its early stage of development.

I've done Compact and Repair but that's not improving it at all.

Has anyone experienced the same problem?

You say this is on a server?

Q1: Was it always this fast on the server?

Q2: What is your network speed in Kbits/sec or MBits/sec?

Q3: Does anyone regularly defrag the server's disk?

Hi The_Doc_Man,

The application I'm developing now is on my development PC. It's a 2.4GHz PC, we have 10/100Mbit/sec network speed.

The speed is already bad on my PC, it becomes worse when I place the be on a fileserver.

I've not done defrag for few months now.

My guess is whether it is due to the form having too many fields and controls, calling Macros and subroutines.

Hi Hooi!

Make sure that "auto Correction" (I think thats whats it's called in the English Version) is not selected (clicked) It's under Extras -Options - General. This makes a big difference to the speed.

Hi Marion,

Thanks for the suggestion!

I've turned it off from Tools->AutoCorrect Options..., restarted the application. But the speed seems to be the same though.
