Text box - refering to a field in a query

Hi, I can't "point" a text box to a field of a query. How do we do that?

Right now, this is what I do. I right-click on the text field. Go to properties. Go in the Data section. Click on [...] next to Control Source. Then I choose the field that I want.

But, when I preview the report, I get this: " #Name? " in the text box.

The only way I was able to get the correct field is by creating a report using the wizard.

report pointing to query

Are all the fields in the report pointing to the same query? If they are, you can go to design view of the report and open the report property box (not the section property box). Go to the Data or All tab and put your query in the Record Source field. If you need to point the report to multiple queries, you can use the toolbox and create subreports in design view and put your text boxes in the subreports and point each subreport to the appropriate query.
