text box

I have a combo box on a form, when a user selects from the list, a after update vb code puts the result in a text box . Can anybody tell me what code I need to format the text box to show currency

In the table set the fields Data Type to Currency. If the Text box is unbound then select Currency from the Format property.

In design view, right-click on the text box, select Properties | Format. Make your selection from the drop-down list.

I have done this, but the tables are linked tables to a excel spreadsheet.
The combo box shows what is in the tables and the numbers are formatted to currency.
When the update code runs and puts the data into a text box the format disappears, even after I have changed it in design view
