Solved the data base engine could not lock table (1 Viewer)

trying to split a database get this error message the data base engine could not lock table 'tlbblood pressures' because it is already in use.
I am using a stand alone computer. nothing is open in access

Is there perhaps a recordset that gets opened on startup and is still open? Try opening the db while holding down the Shift key and then trying to split.

Hmm, and no form/table/query is open? Sorry, but I'm stumped.

tried it again, hold down the shift key and it worked
ot work

1 Try creating a new db then import the tables. Make this you BE
2. In a copy of your original db delete all the tables then use the external data tab to link to your new BE
