There ought to be a law - hey! There is! (1 Viewer)

 Yes...

What your take on it? What should be done?

Why was the boy in a juvenile home ?

He was supposed be when she helped him escape...

Here's a quick take:

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. - A 37-year-old woman who married a 15-year-old friend of one of her sons pleaded guilty Wednesday to helping her husband escape from state custody.

Lisa Clark was sentenced to two years in jail and three years' probation after entering the plea to two counts of hindering the apprehension of a child.

Clark had denied having anything to do with the boy's escape in February after she had given birth to their child. The boy bolted from a juvenile home and was found in Cleveland.

Question is, why was he in there in the first place.

2nd, if they are married, the boys parents had to sign a consent form for them to marrie before the age of 17. Where are his parents now?

a. They should both be surgically fixed so that it can't happen again.
b. She should be treated the same as a male sex offender.
c. The child should be placed in good home with no contact from the either of them...

IMHO anyway...:o

Who??

b. She should be treated the same as a male sex offender.
If they are legeally married, then they can't. If a man married a young girl with parents consent, nothing could be done to him either.

The baby of the boy and the woman??

The baby of the boy and the woman??

- Both

- They were not married when they had sex.

- Yes

Actually the house here in SC just passed a law that a 2 times sex offender to children under 11 can receive the death penalty.

It is on the governor's desk as we speak for final approval.

OK so...

37yo woman has sex with 15yo boy, gets pregnant. She then legally marries him based on the pregnancy. Then she gets charged with statutory ra** of....her husband? WTF? Seems to me this is a mutually exclusive situation...

I think the pickle she's in right now is that she helped the boy escape from the juvenile detention home. I'm not sure they have the rest sorted out at the moment... But I may be wrong... :) :)

I just marvel at the stories of middle-aged women falling for teenagers. It's one thing to go for a buff 21 year old guy when you're in your thirties, but a 15 year old? Did he have his braces off yet? :p

Ok, and I know that we can hijack the thread with the discussion over which is worse - old man iwth young woman, or old woman with young man. But I will leave that for the hijackers to pick up on......

Lisa

What baffles me is how we have such differences in marriage laws, etc from state to state...

Wow! That must really baffle you. ;)
