I was just wondering, do most people here keep there tables seperate and use their queries to perform any joining, or do you use the linking tables option within the Access table relationship manager?

Whenever I've created Access databases I've used the manager.

But I've not created any for some time, and since then I've created a database using pure SQL, obviously without any relationship manager. My lecturer on my college course pointing out that this is the 'purist' way to do it.

I was more curious to find out what you people, in the real world, do?

And 'purists' would insist that notepad is the way to write web pages

I use the relationship manager (that's what 'tools' are for!)

This is what I thought, unfortunately when you have someone who knows a lot more about the subject teaching you, you tend to have to take their word for it until you can look into it yourself. He is from the very 'old school'!
If it's good enough for the people on here, then it's good enough for me.

Thanks Kevin and Pat.
