Too many records

I have a form with a subform, these are used for data entry.

When a user does a filter by form on a field in the main form it brings up that record fine, but it brings up all records that have been entered on the subform regardless. So for each record on main form it brings up hundreds of records on subform even if when entered each main form record had only one or two records in subform.

I am thinking relationship problem between two tables?

Any ideas?

Are your links between the subform and main form set correctly?
