toolbox objects won't work

I have been developing an application in MS Access 2000 but have run into a problem that is way beyond my knowledge. The problem is that objects selected from the tool box will no longer work when I place them on a form.

For example, if I try to place a combo box on a form, it just sits there and does not open the dialogue box that usually pops up. The same applies to command buttons, list boxes, etc.

I checked my computer with the latest virus checking software (Norton) and I reinstalled MS Access but the problem persists.

Does anyone have any idea what may be causing the problem?

Does this problem occur in all your dbases or just the one?

If just the one I've had this help.

Try Tools>> Database Utilites>> Compact and Repair

And for some reason, doing a complete shutdown on the computer works sometimes. (not restart, choose shutdown so you have to push the button on the computer to start up)

What i understand is that the wizard might have been turned off on the toolbox. Click on the wizard button (magic wand) to activate the wizard on the toolbox toolbar.
