trying to copy data from excel

trying to copy data from excel however in the form and in the desing view the iocn for excel is not active.
what should i do to make the excel icon in the form view active.

The best way to copy data from Excel is to use the TransferSpreadsheet method or action to import it. Cutting and pasting requires that you have identical structures and if your Access table is identical in structure to a spreadsheet, it is probably not normalized.
