Okie Dokie,
We'll start by looking up Totals, queries, then Perform calculations in a query in Access Help. Going from where we left off in the last post of yours I responded to, I am assuming you already have the query that lists all of your classes with the individuals. So, we need to add the calculations using the Totals row. Up on the toolbar you will see the greek Sigma symbol (Statistics ... Summation). This will add a new row in the grid down below. You will want to Group By the class name, and Count the individuals. The field where the criteria is will need to be changed to Where. Notice that the Show box is unchecked. This OK. (If you don't see why, let me know. I can go into this further) Now, you may need the converse of this, too, depending on what exactly you want on your chart. Create another query, save them both, then join them by the class name to get the count of those current, and those expired.
