two questions about date

I, I have a query with this line in it:

WHERE (((Compras.Date) Between #01-01-2001# And #31-12-2001#))

but i want to turn it more flexible, letting the user to choose the year he wants.
But I don't know how do i join the day and month to the year choosed by the user...
I've tryied stupid things like #01-01-# & Me.Year & #, lol... nothing worked.
and i also would like to know how do i extract all the years (and only the year) from a date field without repetitions...

for example, i have these dates:

01-01-1989
22-12-1995
31-12-1995
15-3-1999
21-9-2001

and i want that in the listbox, the options available are:

1989
1995
1999
2001

how do i do that?

try putting the dates together like this:

1. CDate("01-01-" & Me.Year )

2. Use the "Year" function in your list query.
