The Biden administration is continuing with the politicization of the power-of-government to declare those who do not support the policies of the Democratic party as criminals. This is the same type of "justice" that was pracitced in the old Communist block under the USSR.

Can't a President be impeached for failing to enforce the law equally? Isn't that what the Executive Branch is supposed to do? Biden seems to be able to write the law by issuing an executive order or just tell companies to do his will if he knows he can't write a law. And he just tells government departments to ignore laws he doesn't want to enforce except selectively of course. He seems to have torn up the entire Bill of Rights in 10 months. There's got to be a lot of people out there jonesing for a few mean tweets.

The simple answer is "yes". The stumbling block to equal justice; is that for Democrats, its party above all else. The Democrats, under the extreme partisanship of today, will never impeach their own and they control the levers of power. To reiterate, the Democrats using the power-of-the-state to persecute political opponents surfaced in the waning months of the Obama administration. Following the election of Trump, the hold-overs and even some of the new appointees used the power of their positions to obstruct Trump. Now, that partisan abuse by Democrats is being used with impunity without any apparent push-back from the Department of Justice under the Biden administration. Garland, (the US Attorney General) head of the US Justice Department has gone full "Woke".

I personally think that the impeachment was meant to emphasize "high crimes".
We read "misdemeanors" and mistakenly conclude that they actually meant what we now think of when we hear "misdemeanors", which is, very petty crimes.

Of course, as soon as you study and conclude that it doesn't require an actual crime (nor does it necessarily mean something very petty, like our term misdemeanor), you also read a lot about how it can be just about any abuse of trust.

Thus, I wouldn't want to invoke it lightly on any president - Democrat or Republican.

But now that there has been the circus, it will be weaponized as a common item in the toolkit.

Definitely one of the things in the Constitution that was left a little too open, in my opinion. Everyone can argue for all eternity about whether some thing a person abused their office or the public trust. Some will say Biden "catch and releasing" 200,000 illegal entrants per month is a huge betrayal of the sovereignty of our nation. Others will say Trump doing this or that, there's just dozens and dozens of potential cases on all sides - it's a never ending debate.
