Apologies if this is in the wrong section.

I am completely new to access and have just started a new job which involves the building of databases using access 97. The person who I replaced has very helpfully locked all the databases.

What I would like to know is there any way to unlock them again? I can view the page as a user but I need to get into the tables etc so I can modify the design slightly.
Is this possible or am I going to have to build a brand new database?
Bearing in mind I know next to nothing so if I cant get in then I will be here asking all sorts of questions:D

Thanks

Is it a .Mde file? Look at the file extension of the file; is it .MDB or .MDE?

its a Mde database

If it is an .MDE the design of the database can't be modified. What exactly do you need to do?

Drat. LOL

Basically the database needs to be upgraded to run on access 2000 but as the guy coded it and didnt use any wizards we are getting lots of error messages.

Oh well guess Ill be asking lots of questions as I try and learn how to build one from scratch using 97

Thanks for your help

There are programs on here to extract the forums.
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/createmdbfrommde.htm

But the VBA cannot be changed, unless you pay for some1 to reverse code for you, which may cost a fortune. but if you learn enough to get buttons working etc. then you maybe albe to save yourself some time by using the existing forums.
