Unrecognized database format. (Error 3343)

I am about to have a heart attack because I got the following error message after an entire days work in access .......Unrecognized database format <filename>. (Error 3343)

Any thoughts on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated!!

yup. restore your backup. after "an entire days work" i usually have about 20 consecutively numbered backups on the database(s) i'm wokring on.

-> there have been times when i open my database after transferring it by USB form another computer, and this error occurs. after a couple more attempts are re-copying to the usb and to my own computer, the database was again functional, with no modifications by myself.

If you don't have any backups(tut-tut) then try doing a "Compact and Repair". Always take backups while you are developing.
