Update Continuous Subform

I hope there is an easy answer - I have a form which contains a continuous subform. The subform gets its data from a table which is bound. I want to have a button on the form to update the data and then re-display it. But I get the error that the form cannot be updated because the table is locked.

For background info - the form is a holiday planner showing a 6 week window of staff holidays. People are down the left and days across the top. I need a way to shift a week to the right or the left.

Am I missing somethign obvious? Do I need to go to an unbound form? Any help gratefully received.

Self solved. Every time I displayed the form I started by creating a temporary table and then ran the form. I simply emptied the underlying table instead of trying to delete it. Then refilled with fresh data, then requeried. Works a treat.
