Question Update Stock Project

Hi all! I am pretty new here and knowledge is very basic so do excuse that please.

I have a simple database with approx 8 tables. One of them is stock, the other is orders. What I would like to do is when an order is placed the stock table updated and the stock amount ordered is deducted from the stock level field.

I hope you can make some sense of that.
