Updating Return Date??

I am working on a tracking form to track backup tapes. Right now, when you add a record, the return date is 10 days from the current date. I would like it to update it if you select monthly tapes (drop down box)to change the return date to reflect 1 year or if you select daily to add 10 days to the current day (default).
