Hi,

I want to thank everyone for all your help so far with access i have found all the information quiet useful. I recently updated my computer from access 2002 to 2007! I am finding it quiet confusing to do things i found quiet simple in the past. I was wondering if someone could help me with how to build security with this new system i have the old database and and .mdw file. How i do this setup in 2007?

Also where is the startup feature that was in 2003?

Cheers Krispy89

OK after doing some of my own research it seems there is no longer user-level security in access 2007 if this is true let me know rephrase my question....

What is the access 2007 comparison of user-level security if any?

Cheers Again

No worries. I hope you find what you're looking for. Good luck with the rest of your db.

You're correct, that feature no longer exists.
That isn't a true statement.

Access security IS quite available in Access 2007, but ONLY if you use the old mdb format. It is not available in the new ACCDB format. But you can still use Access 2007 and using one of the older mdb formats you can have Access 2007 use Access security.

Read that post incorrectly. I thought the OP created the db in 2007. Thanks.

And just as an addendum to your statement here - if you use Access 2007 to create an mdb file (either 2000 or 2002-2003 version mdb file) you can use Access security as well. The mdb file does not have to be created in an earlier version but you do have to use the mdb format (just wanted to clarify that so people didn't think they couldn't create the mdb file in 2007 as well).
