hi friends

i need a help from u....
our contract partners r using an ms access project.
it's working in their network.
but when i copy the project to our network
we got an error like below:

Confirm data loss
The file 'filename.mdb'contains more than one stream, but the destination volume does not support this feature. Some data will not be preserved as a result

information that will not be preserved includes:
:CA_INOCULATEIT:$DATA
Do you want to proceed anyway

when i press yes..it's copied but it's not working

when i search thru net i got some information like zip the file and the copy to the network.but still it's not working.
our partners are using windows 2000 with NTFS and ms-access2000
and ours is windows xp with ntfs and ms-access2000
the virus scanner is mcafee

if any one knows the solution please inform me...
b'coz tommorow is the final day to fix the error

is it any problem in copying the file..
is there any problem in compatibility

urgent reply needed

regards,
jenson

CA_INOCULATEIT must refer to InoculateIT from Computer Associates which is an old antivirus product. I don't think this is anything to do with Access.

Others may have better information for you.

This almost looks like either a backup error or a tape-device error. Perhaps the Access app is managing its own backup operations?

Access by itself, and ALL magnetic disks using standard Windows device drivers, are multi-stream. So there is something involved that is either not a magnetic disk or uses a non-standard driver. I doubt anyone here is going to be able to help very much with the information presented here.

I'd heartily agree with neileg; Virus checkers are a pain in the butt! If you are on a corporate machine where you can't turn it off then you can't try this, but I would disable the virus checker before trying anything else.
